Sixties Rock Music (under construction) This website grew out of a research project centered on the experience at Drew University during the latter 1960s. During the few years following 1966, the small, liberal arts college hosted a who’s who of rock music, from Eric Burdon & the Animals (pictured here) to the Jefferson Airplane and Iron Butterfly, and all points in between. As it turns out, Drew and dozens of other colleges and universities became important sites for the development of rock music culture in the latter half of the decade. This website is dedicated to an exploration of that story.
